After using motorola Atrix II and ipod shuffle i was thinking about buying an audio gear which is good enough to say that Hi-Fi, finally end-up with fiio X3 1Gen. My first impression is really great ,player provided with a micro USB cable (for charging and data transfer), one translucent silicone case which is really useful(helped me in getting a good resale😜)and a screen protector.over all the built of the device is up market ,switches are solid and responsive except wired positioning of it; always getting trouble in finding right switch at low light condition . Fiio provided with a good stock firmware ( when compare with some other costly device less buggy). In my perspective fiio is a company which give customers a good value.

                                      Device equipped with one 3.5 mm audio out, one coaxial/optical out and one line out for direct audio. with the help of a software we can use it as a USB DAC and which function's very well, later software updates really improved the stability of player and DAP/DAC function,DSD support implemented with the software update which works flawless. 

i used only 32 GB SD card , file transfer and other data related operations are good enough that it will never make your brain hot. X3 battery lasted for 4-5 days with a usage of 2hrs/day found really good compare with Hifiman hm603 slim or Xunsound Xs-01 

                                                  I used to pair X3 along with Sennheiser HD 280 pro ,which was the only headphone with me that time. Sound signature of X3 is in the bright side with a plastic effect, for longer listening the mate is not advisable , X3 really showed the signature of Wolfson WM8740 DAC which i was ok that time but it never fulfilled me or never made any eargasm. X3 is a kind of player which can reproduce a real flower into a good picture with some missing life. its because of the DAC which they selected for the player. player never showed any affinity to a particular frequency, since i used Sennheiser  HD 280 pro trebles found little sharp with enough detailed ,mids found bright and bass side found less forward when compare with other part of spectrum.

                                                 Later while using with audio technica ath-m40  i found that X3 has a neutral frequency response with missing musicality, that restricted me from using it for long listening.

I used X3 for about 3 year and sold after listening to one chinese DAP Zishan Z2( magic of AK4490 DAC) which is musical at matured than X3, it dosent mean that fiio X3 is bad  it just mean that generation difference really improved the architecture of DACs(  solely my perception😜 ).

I Usually listen to classic,rock ,folk and musics which are soothing. prefer WAV and FLAC least case 320 Kbps MP3
